Bakonyi & Byrne Equine Vets was established by Peter Bakonyi and Aoife Byrne in 2020.

With their combined 25 years of specialised equine veterinary experience, setting up their own practice was a natural career progression.

Experience working at some of the best equine practices throughout Ireland and England set this husband and wife team apart.

Internal medicine, reproduction, ophthalmology & dermatology are Aoife’s areas of proficiency which, combined with Peter’s expertise in lameness and poor performance investigation, make for a comprehensive equine veterinary service.

Their extensive experience is complemented by state-of-the-art portable imaging equipment, including radiography, ultrasound and endoscope units.

These allow B & B Equine Vets to acquire digital images, analyse them and offer potential diagnoses of most conditions promptly at your premises.

Furthermore, it allows for treatment (whenever possible) to be undertaken swiftly and efficiently to ensure the best possible outcome for your horse or pony.
